Presenting Tash Steger
Tash was in the Australian Girls Choir for nine years (2000-2008). In this time she was selected to perform on television and at high profile events across Australia. Her highlights include: The Qantas Advertisement, soloist at the Carols in the Domain, Socceroo’s and World Cup Matches, welcoming home the Australian Olympic Team from Athens & Beijing, performing for Prince Frederick and Princess Mary, featuring on Sunrise & Mornings with Kerry-Anne as well as supporting stars such as The Wiggles, Troy Cassidaley, John Farnham and Human Nature. Memorable experiences for Tash also include performing alongside Hugh Jackman in the Australian Arena Musical, ‘The Boy from Oz’ (2006) as well as being selected to perform at his surprise birthday (2008).
Tash’s most flourishing performance to date was her singing and acting role as Crimson in her major work, ‘A World Without Sex’; a comic cabaret show performed as part of Charles Sturt Universities Sprung Festival (2012). The show toured to Brisbane’s Anywhere Theatre Festival and was also a successful sell out at Sydney’s renowned Slide Cabaret Lounge on Oxford Street (2014). Tash’s passion for Music Theatre and Cabaret Performance derived from her experience of writing and performing her own one-woman show, ‘None of That’, whilst on exchange in California (2011).
In 2011, Tash began playing gigs in and around Bathurst. Since then, she has performing live acoustic sets at a variety of events, functions, weddings, festivals around Bathurst and Sydney either as a solo, duo or trio act. Highlights include the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Bathurst Village Fair Festival. As a vocalist and guitarist, Tash is a blend of jazz, folk and indie styles whose renditions of cover songs include artists such as Angus and Julia Stone, Mumford and Songs, George Ezra, Amy Winehouse, Vance Joy and Bon Iver.
